sticks and stones

in motion
swing like the seed
though many different
is it life?
my words are not my own
not now that you're coming down
and are about to pass
through the line of this and that
and now you're gone.

so, please don't tell me
that i am what i am
and that sticks and stones
may break my bones
but words will never hurt me
because your words
have broken bones a plenty
and now i'm going to sit
wrapped in my corner
of comfort and lies
and try to mend
what is unfixable.
